Generally, most of the items you’ll want in your end-game build are higher item level, meaning you need to kill higher monster levels to get them. In order for certain items to be dropped, monsters need to be a minimum level that matches or is higher than the item’s level. You’re unable to see these yourself in the game, but luckily we have over 20 years of knowledge to go off of from Classic Diablo 2.
